Weaving Course

Course #PM01. Intensive Course (3 day)
The course provides the trainees with the basic skills of Lao weaving methodologies and how to create the motif from 1 or 2 weaving techniques as the choice of the trainee. This course is of great benefit for those who appreciate Lao weaving textiles as a beginner or as the more experienced weaver who likes to practice on certain Lao weaving techniques.

- Lao weaving process and pattern orientation.
- Lao loom structure in brief.
- Methods for designing Motifs for application to Lao weaving.

Weaving Course

Course # PM02. Advanced Course (6 day)
In this course the extra time available allows the opportunity for the course to provide technical knowledge of Lao weaving for trainees to perform up to 4 techniques of pattern making. This course will be of benefit for those who appreciate Lao weaving textiles, experienced weavers who like to practice on certain Lao weaving techniques and for designers and weavers who choose to advance their skill base and expand their repertoire with Lao patterns and Lao weaving system.

Weaving Course

Course # PM03. Master Class (One Month Course)
This course provides the opportunity to not only ‘Live the Life of Lao Textiles’ in much greater depth, but also enables the Artisan to achieve a higher qualification of skills along with an articulated understanding and ability to perform all 5 different techniques unique to Laos Textiles, including a three day Natural Dyeing Course. This course will enable the trainee to develop their personal talent to create designs that are specific to the chosen type of weaving. Within this one month master class the artisan can focus his or her creativity directly towards a high end product of originality and quality. With a more sophisticated awareness of the individual attributes of each technique, the trainee is encouraged to produce a number of designs which in turn directs the artisan’s personal growth and expertise, each completed artwork in this course tends to motivate and influence the direction of the next artwork, and so on and so on.

Natural Dyeing Course

Course # PM04. One Day Course
The course provides 2 dyeing methods one hot dye technique and the other cold dye technique. The trainees will be able to practice 2 colours, dyeing with yarn or cloth.

Course # PM05. Three Day Course
The course provides 2 dyeing methods one hot dye technique and the other cold dye technique. The trainees will be able to practice 8 different colours, dyeing with yarn or cloths.
